An Alternative (works with this example page) is the Firefox Plugin DownloadHelper.
Which does the same thing with media.
Although this technique seems to be more versatile.

Actually, now you can access the US Netflix with a Canadian Netflix account so long as you've got the IP blocker (usvideo.ca) configured follow all the recommeded steps. So no need to use a US credit Card. This is a change that they recently made. Keep your Canadian Acct and purchase your usvideo.ca ip blocker. That's all you need!

[...] Telnet: A basic service used to allow multiple users to connect to a device. It is disabled by default in Vista/7, but can be easily enabled again. Keeping telnet disabled by default helps to close potential security holes, as it is a service no longer used frequently. Though it admittedly has little to no value for the average user, it is something to be aware of. By far the coolest use of telnet I know of can be found by typing ‘telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl’ inside of your cmd window. By doing that, you will open yourself to an entire world of ASCII art. Also, How to Enable Telnet in Vista/7 [...]

Am I correct in assuming that since these settings point my modem through an external VPN, then any internet enabled machine connected to my modem should also be able to access the US Netflix? Namely my iPhone via Wifi, and my Playstation 3?
