I hate to say it but my fiance and I probably spend more time figuring out what to watch than actually watching things on Netflix. I can’t be a serious challenge at times to find something that both of us want to watch, haven’t seen before, or are in the mood for. It’s one area where television really excelled, you could just flip the channels until you stumbled up on something, with Netflix the onus is on you to pick.
So when I heard Netflix was adding a Play Something button I was pumped. Now when I just need to turn the TV on and play something for background noise, such as when I’m cooking, I don’t have to spend a lot of effort picking something out.
There’s three spots to find it:
- Underneath your profile name
- On the tenth row on your Netflix homepage
- In the navigation menu on the left of the screen
Now perhaps I’m just never satisfied but I think Netflix could really stand to add a few more quality of life features such as this. Another one I’d love to see is the option to hide things from your feed. Whether it’s stuff you’ve seen before or just have no intention of ever watching we need an option to filter shows and movies out.
So what do you think? What other quality of life changes should Netflix make to improve their experience?
